Ian Hudghton MEP this week marked St. Andrew’s Day at the European Parliament by offering colleagues a taste of the renowned Currant Loaf made by the award winning family business the Home Bakery in Buckie.

Members of the European Parliament, parliamentary staff and visitors from all around Europe took the opportunity to join with the SNP MEP at his Taste of Scotland stall in the headquarters of the European Parliament, and to sample a slice of currant loaf, to very positive response.

Speaking following the event Ian Hudghton MEP said, “Every year I host an event at the European Parliament to showcase St. Andrews Day, Scotland’s national day, and to introduce my European colleagues to some of Scotland’s finest produce.

“This year I chose the Home Bakery in Buckie, and ordered some of their excellent currant loaf, and I am glad to be able to report that the many visitors to the display were impressed with what they sampled.”
