Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) ‒ I do not support all the calls in this report and in particular oppose calls for a common consolidated corporate tax base. Tax raising powers are and should remain a Member State competence. Nevertheless, the EU does have a role to play in promoting transparency and eliminating tax evasion. This report makes a number of useful recommendations in this regard and on balance I was able to give it my qualified support.
