Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) ‒ The outbreak of Xylella fastidiosa is already serious in parts of Italy and has the potential to be devastating across the Mediterranean area and southern Europe. This is a major threat to rural industry and culture in the areas affected as well as to consumers across the EU. My Group has called for strict quarantine measures to be implemented and it is disappointing that the majority in this House have not opted to follow that call.
