Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) − I am delighted that the plenary sitting of Parliament has overturned the Fisheries Committee's original decision. The Protocol with Mauritania was negotiated between the EU and an independent, sovereign country. The Mauritanians have the absolute right to negotiate such a Protocol as they see fit and I reject suggestions in this House that we seek to renegotiate the deal.
