Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) – At a time when all public institutions are having to find savings it is only right that the parliament's interpretation facilities are used in as efficient a way as possible. Late cancellations should be minimised and methods should be used to make economic use of the facilities. Nevertheless, linguistic diversity is not negotiable and we must ignore calls from certain sections of the English language press to reduce the number of languages used in this house.
