Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) − I wish to congratulate the rapporteur and colleagues across the political groups for the excellent work that has been done in negotiating this package. When this House first received the Commission's proposal it was clear that consumer rights in numerous countries were being threatened, not enhanced. This compromise package has removed a number of these threats and will hopefully lead to a better consumer environment across the EU.
