Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) ‒ This report's call for Member States to make a real commitment to developing policies to fight child poverty is timely. In the United Kingdom we currently have a right wing Tory government fully intent on slashing millions of pounds from welfare and public bodies. These ideologically driven cuts are harming families across Scotland and the UK and will only result in the already horrendous child poverty statistics increasing.
