Aberdeenshire West Constituency Branch this evening held their AGM at the village hall in Oyne.  SNP President Ian Hudghton MEP chaired the meeting, which discussed a busy and exciting year ahead with European Parliamentary elections scheduled for May 22nd, and the Independence Referendum taking place on the18th September 2014.

A large number of local SNP members attended the AGM, along with SNP Councillors, Constituency MSP Dennis Robertson and North East Regional List MSP Christian Allard.

Speaking at the meeting, Ian Hudghton MEP said, "Thank you to Aberdeenshire West Constituency Branch for inviting me to the AGM and to allow me to speak about my recent activity in the European Parliament and the year ahead.

"2014 gives the chance to vote for strong SNP representation in the European Parliament at the European elections in May, and to deliver the powers and opportunities of independence to Scotland, that only a Yes vote guarantees, in September.

"It was great to see a high level of enthusiasm for the year ahead amongst those in attendance, and this is a very encouraging sign that with some hard work 2014 will be the best year yet for this nation."
